On Saturday 6th March Eton End opened its doors to both prospective and current parents.
On arrival visitors were welcomed by the Spring colours in our extensive grounds where our pupils have plenty of space to play.

In her address our Head Teacher highlighted the wide ranging achievements of our pupils which could be seen in displays and demonstations throughout the school.
She congratulated the Year 6 girls who have done very well in their entrance examinations to Independent Senior Schools with 10 scholarships being awarded: three academic, five music, one drama and one sport.

The Head Girls then spoke in their own words about the strengths of our school and the aspects they particularly enjoyed.
|
Visitors were treated to a preview of Show Time, when Year 3 performed their version of Let’s go fly a kite from Mary Poppins.
Home-made kites were used which complimented the delightful spring back drop designed by pupils of the school!

They were then entertained by our very impressive school choir .....

Work in the Art Room demonstrated the various techniques, tools and materials used by our pupils in their Art, Design and Technology lessons.
You could see their construction kits in action ...

When it was time for a break, refreshments were being served by Year 4 in the Café Quatre.
You could make your selection from the menu cards designed by the pupils.... choose un pain au chocolat washed down by un café au lait.

A trip to the Nursery gave an opportunity to see the facilities on offer to our youngest pupils and to admire the colourful displays including ... ....robots....

...and the Man on the Moon....

..... complete with Aliens!

In the Computer Suite there were exciting cross curricular programmes demonstrated by our pupils.

Groups of the older girls explained Maths in the 21st Century to the older generation!
|
The Science Lab intrigued visitors with "Experiments & Predictions".
|
Multi sensory displays were on view in the Learning Support Room – see it, hear it, feel it!
|
Outside on the courts there were demonstrations of the girls' netball skills under the expert guidance of their coach.
|
All in all a very successful Open Morning for visitors, parents and children .
