On Tuesday 9th February the Eton End School Choir took part in a very successful and enjoyable Choir Day at The Abbey, Reading.
The main focus of the day was the rehearsing and performance of several pieces as a large massed choir to an audience of parents.
The composer Julie Cooper had kindly arranged a special version of her choral work Without Fear for everyone to perform.
As well as having the opportunity to sing together the children also enjoyed a number of musical workshops.
In a practical percussion workshop they tried out a range of instruments and experimented with various rhythms.
Another workshop introduced them to Eric Coates's Three Bears Phantasy which The Abbey Senior School Orchestra played in the afternoon concert.
Every choir attending the day had an opportunity to perform a piece that they already knew. Eton End sang One Single Light by Dave and Jean Perry.
It was a wonderful experience for all concerned and we would like to thank The Abbey for organising this special day.
