Eton End school pupil Aniya (aged 9) has won a Gold Disc for her music composition on the theme of Space, run by education music technology provider M:Tech. Pupils from Independent Schools across the country created their own compositions as part of a multi-media project, with Aniya’s composition winning a prize to mark her extra-special efforts.
Rachael Cox, Head of Eton End which is based in Datchet, near Windsor said: “We are delighted that Aniya’s composition about Space won the coveted Gold Disc as part of the M:Tech programme. All our students have the opportunity to join the M:Tech club at Eton End, where they can explore writing compositions, discover sounds and understand music technology.”
Music technology is just one of the many co-curricular options on offer at Eton End school and parents can find out more about this during the open afternoon taking place on the 13th of May. With a theme of ‘Just Imagine’, children will be encouraged to try a range of activities including sports, music, acting, art and much more. The music studio at Eton End is filled with equipment which will be available as part of a workshop on the day. The afternoon is designed to allow children to really get to know what goes on at the school as they try their hands at a whole host of exciting new activities.
Rachael adds: “We are so lucky to have some exceptional staff and dedicated facilities here at Eton End which let pupils like Aniya study music technology and composition. We hope that the children who come along to our ‘Just Imagine’ themed Open Afternoon, will have their imagination & passion sparked at some of our workshops as we strongly believe that creative arts are at the very heart of developing a rounded child. Any families who want to see our facilities and talk to our team about what our school has to offer are welcome to join us and existing families at the event.”
The Open Afternoon will take place between 2-4pm on Saturday 13th May. Parents are invited to sign up with the school registrar if they would like to attend by ringing or by registering online at the school’s website, www.etonend.org
